SOLD: Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D200 - 12-11-2007, 09:50 AM

Legal for me to sell as it is the original, and I'm not retaining a copy.

Twenty-two bucks includes shipping.

Publisher: Thom Press
ISBN: B000E1FXIO
2005
740 pages
Format: PDF
40 Mb size

This eBook helps you master the use of the Nikon D200 digital SLR, with a full description of the camera features and lots of useful tips and background information. This is the work that should have been the manual!

Organized to help you learn. I've reorganized how I present material, with distinct sections for what you need to know before using the camera (background and setup), while using the camera (shooting features), and after using the camera (what to do with your images, including how to use Nikon's software). Want a more concise carry-it-with-you guide? Just print the middle section and have it bound to take with you.

A complete instruction manual and an introduction to relevant digital issues in one book. Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D200 manages to not only fully describe every feature of the D200 in clear, easy-to-understand language, but gives you rich, technical background for many of the critical issues that confront digital camera users. First time DSLR users will get information about how DSLRs work. DSLR veterans will get insights into how to set their D200 for the best results.

Nikon flash and autofocus modes explained in plain English! Wonder how the new I-TTL flash works? Can't figure out Dynamic autofocus, Release Priority, Focus Priority, Closest Focus Priority, the new AF-A autofocus mode, and a host of other terms used to describe features of the focusing system? Thom Hogan's Complete Guide to the Nikon D200 explains these terms and accompanying techniques in the same simple, no-nonsense language that made his Nikon Field Guide a best seller. Includes information on how to use the D200's Commander mode wireless flash option.

Includes useful Photoshop Actions and Depth of Field spreadsheet. On the disc is Thom's Excel spreadsheet, which allows you to calculate depth of field and hyperfocal distance for any Nikon lens used with the D200 (note that depth of field on a digital body like the D200 is not the same as it is for 35mm film). But that's not all! You'll also get Excel workbooks for macro and flash (know how to calculate the GN of multiple flashes or the effective GN when bouncing? You will if buy this book!).

If you've ever seen or heard about a Hogan book, you know there is nothing out there that will teach you to utilize all of the power of your camera than one of these guides by Thom.

Tom... we're so on the same page right now. I actually gave mine to the couple who bought my D200 as incentive to pay me my asking price in cash (like you suggested). Seemed to work well.

Now if Thom would just hurry up with the D300 and D3 versions!
