WTB: Canon FD mount lens(es) - 04-13-2008, 10:48 PM

Hey, I'm in the DFW area and I'm interested in a wide angle FD mount lens for a 35mm Canon SLR.

If anyone's got one they're willing to part with, let me know!

Rochelle,
If you were in Houston HCE has a good variety of FD mount lenses if you're ever down here I would check it out. If no one offers you anything, you can run a search on ebay like this one Canon FD Lenses

Thanks; I did glance at Ebay, but if I can get one locally and avoid shipping and paypal fees and all that fun stuff it'd be a bit more convenient, so I figured I'd see what's here first.

How wide do you want? I'm not selling mine, but the 24/2.8 in either mount is a decent lens. Did you look at www.keh.com?

Folks on this forum often say that Arlington Camera has used equipment.

Given the cost of gasoline, shopping at KEH and paying shipping makes sense. Plus, you don't have the problem of over rated lenses in mystery condition that you find on ebay.

Good luck.

One other option in the Dallas area is Don's Used cameras on Industrial Blvd. It is located just north of Motor street on the west side of Industrial. Don't know the address. He may have some FD mount lenses.

Since you are in the Garland and Richardson area you might try Garland Camera and Repair in Garland, or Archinal Camera Repair in Richardson.

While you are shopping for older Canon lenses, if you don't have one of these, GET ONE!

50mm 1:1.4 S.S.C.

50MM 1:3.5 S.S.C. Macro with life size adapter.

I have both. Two of the best 50mm lenses ever made.
