As I have been investigating these...curious why are you looking to switch?

These are the same TCs. There is no difference between the Tamron and the Kenko in construction or performance.

I merely want a Black TC rather than a White since I have several white TCs already.

One great advantage of this TC is that it does not project on the back like the new canon mark II.I have one and it works with many more lenses.
