I see that you have a 5D. Does this lens work on a full frame DSLR or is it more like the EF-S lenses meant for the APC sized sensors?

Yes! absolulely full frame capable, so its ultra wide for 5d. the shots was taken with 5D. and the lens will also work well for wide angle smaller sensor (40d etc)
