Uhh.. wait.. what? 400 2.8 non is? Where did that lens come from? Is that a discontinued model? I thought they only made a 400 f/2.8 in IS. The other current 400mm prime is the one with diffractive optics. Im confused

There is a 400L F2.8 Series 1, Series 2 and IS....

Series 1 is not a stellar performer compared to the other 2.

Series 2 is very good (this one here is a Series 2).. but HEAVY

IS is very good and a bit lighter... (current model)

Series 1 and 2 are discontinued.
