SOLD: Canon Mount Lenes (Tamron, Sigma) - 09-09-2008, 08:11 PM

I have three (now two) lenses for sale to help pay the CC bill for my most recent "L" glass purchase. Almost 500 post and this is my first offer to sell so therefore, no ITrader rating. I have an EBay rating under the handle "wondershots". If we meet locally in the Houston area the $10 shipping fee doesn't apply. I'll leave them up for 7 days and then off to EBay if unsold.

Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 XR Di II LD Aspherical (IF) Canon mount:
I bought it new about a year ago and it's served me well in about 5 weddings. It's in excellent condition. Lens, Box, Hood, and both caps.
$360 plus $10 if shipped. Update Price: $345 plus $10 if shipped. SOLD

Sigma 17-35 f2.8-4.0 EX Aspherical Canon mount:
I've had this if memory serves me since 2004. Last used in a wedding on June 2007. Lens, Box, Hood, Case, and both caps.
$185 plus $10 shipped.
Now available on EBay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=250298870927

I would REALLY like to have that 17-50, but I am not sure that the CFO would agree that it is in the budget.

That 17-50 is great - I got one to replace my kit lens and it definitely worth that price. Mines sharp and the color repro is great.

Also the Tamron 28-75 is a great lens. It's my normal walk around and great for most shots.

Yes, it will fit any Canon Digital EOS type body such as the digital Rebel XT, XTi, XSi, 10D, 20D, 30D, 40D, etc., as well as EOS film bodies. From bobatkins.com -

Note that the Tamron SP AF28-75/2.8 XR Di LD Aspherical (IF) Macro has full frame 35mm coverage. Just because it's designated as a "Di" (digitally optimized) lens doesn't mean that it has reduced frame coverage like, for example, the Canon EF-S series lenses. You can use this lens on an APS-C sensor SLR (e.g. Canon EOS 20D) or on a full frame 35mm film body.

Yup, both have served me well. They just have to go to make room for the Canon 24-70 L I have coming. Whoo, hooo.

I will vouch for Jim as a good guy. Never bought anything from him, but he was nice enough to let me borrow a lens for a gig on short notice!

+1 vote for the Tamron 28-75. One of my favorites and stays on my camera 90% of the time!
