I'm looking for a few things, thought if anyone had any of these they wanted to get rid of, you'd let me know...
Nikon 85mm f/1.8
Tamron 17-50mm f/2.8
Tamron 28-75mm f/2.8
Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8
Nikon SB26 or SB28
or Vivitar 285HV
Pocket Wizards (set of 2 at least)--Question here, is it even worth buying the OLD OLD PW models, not the Plus IIs but before then?? I have a friend who has a pair of the old ones for $75....should I get those?)

Westcott Apollo Strip Box with egg crate (12x36 preferably)

for softboxes there's a place called cowboy studio in plano that sells them super cheap (like $40 or so). quality is a little better than JTL, similar to alien bee quality (thick walls, grids available, reflective inner surface, extra difussion included). i have some of their softboxes on my alienbees and they work like a champ (just have to use the appropriate speedring of course)

It's not about the reliability, but more how they "ate" batteries.
We had several pairs of the first generation units and found ourselves changing batteries about twice per month (every 2 weeks). If I had to guess, we did approximately 1200 shots a week. I just couldn't deal with it anymore. What are your findings?

What are your findings? | Mine don't seem to be that bad, either that or I don't use it all that much, probably a couple hundred shots per wedding max, then I change out the batteries. I never trust batteries from the last shoot, even when they are the slow-discharge ones now.

Awesome. How long have you had both units?? And they work perfectly? do you have the users manual for the sb28? I don't think that I'd get the su-4, as the sb28 in itself has a slave function right?? It can be triggered with my on camera flash, right? does this pricing include shipping? and insurance?

I can paypal if you want | Hm...I thought the SB28 had the slave function built into it. Let me read a little bit and get back to you. When you used it, how did it work?? enough power? did it work well in conjunction with the SU-4?? I'm not familiar with the SU-4, as I only have a single Nikon flash and use the IR on it to trigger with my camera. So, I don't know how that combo works. And how it would work to have an SU-4, with an SB28 and SB600?
