I have one that's got a hairline crack at the base. Barely noticed it, and it doesn't look like a real huge problem. I bought the metal shoe mount for it, I just never got around to putting it on because I went with Canon speedlites, and I'm afraid of soldering!

Ah there's a metal shoemount for them? That's why I needed a new one, cause the plastic mount broke on mine. I ended up supergluing the base to my bracket. Worked tonight. Thanks for your reply, but I mainly needed it for tonight.
