Question Print Size Question... - 05-06-2009, 12:58 PM

Hey there Roxanne...

Im looking to get a print made of a shot I recently took in San Francisco a couple of weeks ago...

I am considering getting it done in canvas as i have never done anything in canvas and i am very interested in trying it.

I am looking to get it printed in order to hang over my fireplace mantle and was curious as to what recommendations do you have in regards to figuring out what size would be best for the area i have to work with.

My question is..

Is there a rule of thumb measurement wise I should take into consideration when selecting a print size for this location?

Thanks for your help!

This is the image im interested in getting done with you guys.

Beauty!!! Love the PP action...

What size is the wall over your fireplace??? You can either span the entire space, or go a few inches in on each side - all depends on the look you want.

I'm sorry to be so vague, but I need to know that before I can determine the size of your canvas - it would be awesome!

;P Roxanne

Ooh - they'd both be gawgeous!!!! How's your home decorated? If you need some POP - go for #2. If you have light and color already, go for #1.

IMHO of course...

Just kidding Roxanne.
I convinced Abel that he needed to fly out to SF to join in on a photo gathering I was putting together.
It was a long day, but well worth it (as you can see by the photos).

Abel and I were practically shoulder to shoulder when we took those shots.
In fact, he used my tripod, and we didn't even move it. :p

Awesome! I was kidding too, BTW...

Used YOUR tripod, eh? So you should, technically, get partial print credit???

:p

Hahaa. I owe alan a few lunches!

No doubt! Thanks a ton my friend.. I'd be kicking myself left and right if you never gave me the opportunity to use your tripod..

I'm about to watch the rockets/lakers game so I'll measure it up once I get to the hiz-ouse! :)

Have you figured out what size print you are going to hang?

I'd love to see a photo, of what your print looks like on the wall.

I'd be interested to hear the cost/size of this. I don't do a lot of canvas prints but when I do it's not cheap. Would love to have a better source. Are the inked used UV?
