Nikon CF-D700 - 06-11-2009, 10:58 AM

Has anybody used the Nikon CF-D700? Nikon's literature says that it will hold a D700 with a Standard Zoom. What is a Standard Zoom? I need to know if it will hold a D700 with a 24-70 zoom attached with the hood reversed.

I just got a response from Nikon and the 24-70 is too big for the CF-D700.

According to the nikonusa.com web site, the standard zooms are:
16-85mm f3.5-5.6
18-55mm f3.5-5.6
18-70mm f3.5-4.5
18-135mm f3.5-5.6
24-70mm f2.8
25-120mm f3.5-5.6
17-55mm f2.8
18-55mm f3.5-5.6G ED II
18-105mm f3.5-5.6
18-200mm f3.5-5.6
24-85mm f2.8

My guess is that it should hold the D700 and any of these lenses.

I thought so too, but Nikon says no go. 24-70 is too big.

Well you have what looks like the the largest of the standard zooms. At least one of the larger ones. Sorry to hear it won't fit.

It may be the hood being on the lens reversed. I think the length would fit, but the diameter is probably too big.

Thanks for the help.
