Video bags camera bags Kata - Manufacturer of camera bags

Kata HB-207.

This bad boy is a hoss.
My only concern is if i can take it on the plane... I'm pretty sure i can

I am able to fit my
70-200VR II,
14-24 f/2.8 attached to my gripped D700,
85mm F/1.4,
35mm f/2,
Nikon F2s+50mm f/1.4 attached,
Olympus OM10+50mm f/1.4 attached,
SB800+difuser
2x77mm filters (cpl/ND)
16xAA batteries, and a couple of the small batteries for my film cams
battery charger for the D700
portable HDD
FW800 CF reader
2 fire wire cables for the card reader and HDD
MacBook Pro 15"
charger for laptop
USB mouse
bag's rain cover
And my tripod attached to the outside.

And still lots of room for other stuff...
passport airline tickets
CF cards
lens cleaners and cloth
iPhone+cable
chap stick
eye drops
few extra rolls of film.

I think im set for my trip over seas.

the best part about this... i shall be undone if i cant take it on the plane!!! But i think i can. I've done the measurements.

Good Lord. I spent 2 weeks in France with a Mamiya TLR and one lens and a Canon RF and one lens. I wouldn't trade my negatives and slides for all of your stuff.

Have fun!

Why don't you just use a PODS or a SAM or Pack Rat?

I was at Precision yesterday and looked at that one... quite the bag. And I almost got it. Ended up getting the Think Tank Streetwalker Harddrive instead. It holds about the same amount but in a more rigid form and for $70 less. Now I just have to fill it up.

But I did love the straps of the Kata. Enjoy!

Nathan - if you're referring to the camera support straps, you can get them for the TT, I received mine thursday and the cam is so much lighter now resting on my shoulder. :)

Daniel,

You're gonna love it. I've had my Kata r103 for a few years now and wouldn't trade it for another bag...evar! The r103 fits in the plane's overhead compartments just fine.

I see Kata has a bunch of new cool accessories.

Thanks Ken! I was referring to the backpack straps though. Would you mind a link though? I can always use more gadgets!

i paid 172 for mine from BnH. The thinktank bag looks like the same price from their site.

haha, i know its over kill... I doubt i'll bring the 85mm...
I just wanted a bag i know i wouldnt upgrade from in the near future. I've gotten new bags almost once a year. I hate to have to keep upgrading.
Its only for transport really.

For carrying around i just have an old military issue sack about the size of a plastic bag. Keeps it discreet.

I'll probably have the 14-24 mounted and the 70-200 +film cams stuffed in my sack while walking around.
The 35mm is when i go to the bars at night with friends i make there.

2 small bodies. 35-50-90. All f/2.0 or f/1.4. Done.

In your case: 700 + the 35 & 85
Film body & 50/1.4

Done.

You can take it on the plane, it has been with me a few trips. I love the bag as well but I am selling mine if anyone wants one $160. Just a touch too big for every day use and too small to fit all my gear....Build quality is outstanding. Actually I can fit everything but with a 300 it is a bit tight and it has to be attached to get everything I carry. I now have a think tank urban disguise, 60 and 70 but do miss the back pack when on longer trips.
