Think Tank Retrospective 10 - 05-28-2010, 02:13 PM

I received one of the first of these bags last week and i have to say it is the most well thought out bag I've ever gotten my dirty little mitts on. At least as far as shoulder bags are concerned, which is mainly the type of bag I tend to use. I love a bag that has lots of different compartments and little pockets for small accessories and organizing and they are everywhere on this bag. Lots of padding, moveable dividers, etc. I'm sure this is nothing new to any current Think Tank bag owners, but wow, I was really impressed.

Now I say, "was" because as great as this bag is/was, I had to return it based solely on size! I was looking for a travel bag mainly for my Leica gear and this bag was just too big/bulky for my needs, even the 10 which is the smallest version. If I was looking for a bag for my dslr it would have been great. But after days of going back and forth and trying to convince myself to keep it, I just had to send it back. But it's that nice of a bag, that I wanted to come on hear and give it some well deserved praise.

If Think Tank ever makes a bag just like it but not as tall and thick, I'll be the first in line for it.

Dennis,

While I don't have any of the new retrospective bags, I did get in a new Think Tank Airport Security II today. These bags are almost too good for words. Everything about the bag (just about) is perfect.

I would venture that anyone considering a new bag will not regret any Think Tank purchase! They're simply that good.

Hey Dennis, I got a similar looking Tamrac bag that might work better for you

Tamrac | 3537 Express 7 Camera Bag (Black) | 353701 | B&H Photo

It's fairly skinny (almost like a laptop bag, it will NOT fit a gripped SLR), and has a good amount of pockets for organizing stuff. It's also relatively inexpensive as camera bags go, I'm pretty happy with it for carrying around a smallish set-up.

Dennis,

Someone posted on here about a new line of bags that don't look like camera bags... and they're thin and shoulder bags too. The name escapes me at the moment but if you search TPF I'm sure you'll find it.

Thanks, but I already got a Billingham Hadley Pro.
All packed and ready to go for tomorrow!
Not in the pic, but I'll be stuffing my D700 and 14-24 in there for the flight.
Not as many compartments and stuff as I would like but the all black is subtle enough and the size is perfect. Slapped a Domke shoulder pad on there as well.
