I have quite outgrown my photo backpack and am looking to upgrade to a roller with some more room. I saw the Pelican case at Camera Coop and thought it looked ideal but did not have a lot of time to play with it. The Tenba look about the same and I really love Tenba cases.

Right now my small Tenba shootout holds three bodies (all gripped), 80-200 2.8, 24-70 2.8, 12-24 4, 50 1.8, and 105 2.8. Along with of course a collection of straps and accessories. And it weighs a ton, well ok, 22.5 pounds.

Then I have to carry another case with two flashes (about to be three), two reversible umbrellas, triggers, modifiers, etc. Then there is the tripod.

The Pelican and Tenba rollers look more than roomy enough to hold everything with plenty of room to spare and will strap the tripod to the side. In addition, I can place my "on site kit" on top of it while rolling making it even nicer.

Pros? Cons? Pics of yours loaded?

Allan

Although I cannot help with the Tenba series, I've used Pelican products for a lot of domestic and international travel.....albeit before the latest weight policies went into effect. I've since fallen for the Think Tank roller but have not yet purchased it. So I can only attest to my want list but not put it through any test. Just a suggestion to see if it might fit your needs better. Options are a great thing.

If you are still considering a Pelican case, check the internet for better prices. A lot of dive shops sell the same Pelican cases considerably less than the photo stores. We just ordering one for work through Buy scuba gear, scuba diving and snorkeling equipment, and everything underwater from LeisurePro.com and it was about $100 less than any of the retail or online shops we looked at.
