Lowepro Passport Sling Bag??? - 10-22-2010, 10:14 AM

YouTube - Lowepro's Passport Sling?

I just found this. Anyone seen one in person? Looks interesting. I like the out-of-the-box thinking. Looks like it hugs the body nicely, too which is always important to me. Just by looking at it, my only concern is the unsealed exterior pockets but saw a review somewhere where the person added some velcro to make them more secure. Might need a few extra interior dividers too, hard to tell.
I've been looking for an everyday sort of bag that could hold a small Leica M kit and other everyday items, and not look like a typical camera bag or one of those overly fancy billingham bags. I have to admit though, with such a cheap retail price it has me wondering how well made it is and how protective it is.

I am looking for a similar bag. Let me know if you get a chance to see it in person.

I'm sure you guys have long since decided on this bag, but in case anyone else is interested, this is the bag I use and I love it. It is shaped perfectly, I shoot with it on and forget it's there and the top-loading-ness of it makes it easy to just grab a lens without having to fuss with a messenger bag flap and buckle.

I fit in the padded area 1 body with an 18-200 lens attached. Plus a standard zoom lens and a prime. I have a little padded bag I keep my flash in, that goes to the side. When the bag is expanded with the side zipper, I can fit my macbook in this thing, too. I also have my camera battery charger, 2 packs of double As for my flash, it has a memory card pocket. I can fit tons of stuff in this bag.

Then on the outside, I can keep a water bottle, my phone, keys, some pocket model releases, my lens caps, my wallet, and I've hardly used up the space in the outer pockets.

My only beef with this bag is that while it could be seen as a feminine design, I wouldn't call it girly by any means, so I might whip up a pretty strap cover to girl it up a bit.

i looove this bag.

i just wish the non-padded area was a little more padded. i do love that it zips to be smaller, and fits absolutely everything i need for a location shoot. and it doesn't look like a camera bag, really.
