Recommended holster for hiking? - 11-27-2010, 10:22 PM

I'm wanting to find something other than a backpack or holster camera bag (where you have to unzip something) that just hooks onto a belt or comes with a belt. Maybe something that you can add another case onto the belt for an extra lens. Any ideas/links?

My first thought would be a Cotton Carrier.

Check out the fanny packs for hiking. We have one that holds two large bottles and then has a small compartment in the center to hold flash, cards, and batteries.

I have a Mountainsmith Day lumbar pack. It holds medium format and/or 4x5 cameras. More than I want to carry if I fill it up. It's good for day hikes. Room for light things like a jacket plus camera stuff too. The side pockets will hold lenses.

I have the Think Tank Pro belt with the #30 holster for my Canon 7D. The holster
expands to hold a 7D and 70-200 attached. I also use an extended length Op-Tec neck strap for additional security. This set-up is comfortable and safe with very easy access.

I use a think tank speed racer, comfortable to wear and holds cam/lens and extra lens, filters, flash, and some other goodies. Added a drink bag to the belt....works good for me walking the trails.

I have one of these. It has a shoulder strap, and also will mount on a belt.

I just bought the Case Crown Rugged Travel Sling on Amazon for like $30. I'm not a hiker, but I wanted something that was easier to carry than a shoulder bag (they won't stay on my shoulder), that could handle multiple equipment w/ extra room for as I build up my equipment stock.

I haven't gotten it yet, I'll get it this week, today even.. maybe

Amazon.com: CaseCrown Rugged Travel Sling-Back All-Purpose DSLR Camera/Lens/Accessories Backpack for the Canon EOS Rebel T1i 15.1 MP CMOS Digital SLR Camera Carrying: Senyx

There's the amazon link to the bag.
