Anybody has experience with Lowepro Pro Trekker series (300,400,600)? - 11-28-2010, 09:46 PM

I am looking forward to getting a big bag that I can use to carry all my gears around.

Currently I have:
  • Canon 5D Mark II with grip
  • Canon 30D
  • Canon 70-200 f/2.8L IS II
  • Canon 16-35 f/2.8L
  • Canon 100 f/2.8L IS
  • Canon 50 f/1.4
  • Canon 580EX

And I may get a 200 f/2.0L IS in the future, just wondering if the main compartment of the Pro Trekker 300 would fit 5D2 with the 200 f/2.0L IS and at the same time all my other lenses can be stored around it. Or do I have to go with the Pro Trekker 400...

I would've got the 400 already but it is OOS everywhere :(

Any suggestion will be appreciated!

The grip being attached gave me problems. Got around the issue by separating the lens & body. But the Trekker never would re-configure to my likes. The drag-along handle takes up too much space. Finally solved the whole problem by moving to a Pelican case with padded insert. Can't be worn as a backpack, but I never used it that way. I would suggest testing the bag if possible.

Thanks for the prompt reply, which one were you referring to, the 300 or the 400?

I understand that a Pelican case would probably give the best fit but I do need a bag that can be carried around

I had a CompuTrekker... it was a rolling bag with pull handle that could be used as a backpack... carried a ton of stuff... just had to pack it LowePro's way... regardless of what you choose, test it out if possible & plan for extra stuff.......

You should be able to see inventory at HCE.
