Help finding the right bag - 01-11-2011, 03:36 PM

I need some help please. I need a shoulder bag that will hold a gripped 50D, 70-200, 24-70, 16-35 & various other stuff. I'd like to keep it under $125 if possible and I would like each lens in it's own padded place. Any suggestions?

I purchased a Joe Farace Bag years ago that cost me under $50
farace bags - Adorama.com
Don't use it much but it's in your price range. I purchased it from Adorama.

Here's a good review that may help:
Great for travel
By Bill R from Hartford CT on 8/22/2010
Pros:
Adjustable Harness, Comfortable, Easily Accessible Equipment, Roomy
Best Uses:
Transporting Gear
Describe Yourself:
Semi-pro Photographer
Bottom Line:
Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
Comments about Adorama Joe Farace Reporter II Backpack holds a 17" Notebook & a Digital Pro SLR with a 100-400mm Lens plus Accessories.:

I have a couple of camera cases, and a camera backpack that I hate and will be unlikely to use...I "won" on [...]. I am VERY happy with the Farace Backpack. Spaces inside are easliy adjusted for lenses, etc. I am on my way back to Costa Rica for a short trip and will be travelling light, but this is perfect for my 50D, 4 lenses, including a 70-200 f 2.8, a strobe and an underwater digital camera and periferals. The laptop fits in very nicely. If, as I hope, it fits under the seat on the plane ( an earlier reviewer says it does) then I will be totally satisfied.

I ended up getting a Tenba Large Shootout shoulder bag. It is a very good bag.
I have in it a gripped 50D, 16-35, 24-70, 70-200, 1.4 extender, flash and misc. other stuff. I still have room for a little more. But it is starting to get heavy.

The only thing I don't like is the carry handle. It attaches to the D rings but it is not ridged. When carrying the bag on my shoulder, I like to reach down and grab the carry handle to set the bag down. The way the carry strap is you have to feel around for it. If it was a rigid design it would always be in the same place.

Other than that I am very pleased with this bag.

How about a Domke F2 or a Think Tank Urban Disguise.

Tenba makes fantastic stuff. I still have, and use sometimes, an old Tenba Metro Pack. It will not die. I also use a Tenba Shootout Daypack which I love. I just bought a Lowelpro X300 roller which seems OK and should do the job, really wanted the large Tenba Roadie but they went up on their prices recently and I just could not justify the $130 extra for less room than the Lowelpro.
