I've been a Timbuk2 guy for years and love their bags to death, but if you're wanting to carry camera gear in the bag along with the computer, I wouldn't go with the Commute 2.0. The pocket in front is big and can hold a lot, but anything sensitive (like a camera) is going to get knocked any time the bag bumps something. I used to use the original Commute bag and I had a pair of nice studio headphones get crushed when I accidentally leaned against a wall.

I think this is about what you're looking for:
Crumpler Brazillion Dollar Home

But, $$$

That's a HUGE bag(brazillion dollar home), even the 8 mil home is big. I think Houston Camera Exchange should have it in stock if you want to check it out, if not, they have the 6, 7, and 8 last time I was there. That will give you some idea as to how big the brazillion dollar home is.

Dont forget to take your laptop!

Cj...when I went to HK...I bought a Messenger bag from Fossil...made a foam/fabric bottom...from a piece of 1/2 foam...with a nice cotton material...stitched it with a sewing machine...to 1/4inch...thick...to act as a cushion on the bottom and made spacers in-between my items in the bag....I had on the plane...13.3" sony would easily fit 16.4"...my a700 w/grip/minolta 85 1.4/minolta 80-200 2.8/minolta 500 8/kenko extension tubes/sigma DG super 500 flash/bean bag for on the ground shots/remote cord/extra batteries/charger/umbrella/ & cell phone....now my shoulder hurt like a mother...and customs hated me...!!! But every thing worked...and fit-under the seat...

When I was in HK...I only put what I needed for that day in the bag....the rest I left in the safe at the hotel...make sure you check with you insurance company and have everything insured...just in case...!!!

Good Luck...

PS...I used an Fossil Messenger...because it does not look like a camera bag...and less conspicuous you look the less likely you are a target...and everybody knows camera bag names...and looks...plus no-matter where you go on your trip you will be a haole from the main-land...so it might be good to get a messenger bag and take it with you for when you walk around the island/s...

The think tank's are expensive, but as a user, and abuser of one, they are worth every penny!! I can fit ALL my stuff in there roll it around, and take it with me pretty much anywhere I want to drag it. Even my husband was glad I spend the $$ on it.

I've decided on the Timbuk2 messenger bag. the laptop has its own compartment and will fit easily, and the main comparment can be used for my gear that I'll buy separate, individual foam sleeves for from HCE. I saw the brazillion $ bag there, but it was awkward/too big and way too expensive. thanks everyone

Someone suggested that I make lens bags out of extra foam and fabric from my bag. I could sell them to you

I bought this bag when I last posted here :P

you should sell the inserts and offer to sew/stick the velcro in the desired bag too

I've used the Tenba Messenger Large bag.
I also own the Crumpler Dreadful Embarrassment bag that only holds laptop, but has a huge compartment for everything else. I put the insert from the Tenba Messenger if I wanted to carry my camera and lenses as well.

I could use something like that Crumpler for times when I just want the laptop.

You can do the same with the Tenba. Just take out the inserts.
Or if you had a favorite laptop messenger bag that you like and has enough room for the inserts, just buy the inserts from Tenba Tenba - Messenger: Removable Photo Insert

I think Crumpler officially has the best names for bags, although they did better with the non-photography ones.
