in need of HUGE! camera bag that will fit 16.4" laptop - 05-09-2011, 09:19 AM

hello!

was wondering if anyone knew any soft laptop/camera bags - not backpacks - that can hold a 16.4" laptop along with basic (read: not a lot) of gear. I wanted this style so I can lug it around while traveling. I'll have another backpack/purse and/or a rolling bag as my other carry on. hay, I'm a woman.. I carry lots of stuff on me

I was gonna see if anyone knew of any, before I just get a huge messenger bag and just get soft neoprene/foam covers for each individual item: the laptop, camera and lenses.

TIA!

Lowepro - Classified 250 AW

too expensive, though. I like it a little better than the thinktank one.

I like the crumplers, but a lot of them are too big... hm

Amazon.com: Timbuk2 Commute 2.0 Laptop Messenger Bag: Electronics

posted it in chatbox, but debating on this now. looks wide enough so that everything fits in there detatched. laptop will only be on there in transit on the plane.. the rest of the time I think even with a lens on, it can sit comfortably in there, along with the rest of my stuff... hmmm

Instead of buying the neoprene covers, you could try making your own compartments out of foam and fabric (or if you hate sewing, just foam). You can personalize the compartments of any messenger bag, so it will fit exactly what you want, and ends up being MUCH cheaper than anything specifically made for cameras.

I'm thinking about doing this because I'd like to start carrying my camera with me all the time, but the messenger bags I currently have are rather heavy. I'm thinking something more light weight because padding and camera equipment (and a computer for you) will get heavy fast!

i don't sew.. haha. and the laptop would only be in there while I'm traveling by plane, otherwise it won't be in there and everything will fit fine and can fit without all the camera foam configs. I only have 1 body and 2 lenses for now, anyway. thanks though :]

Stop by HCE with your laptop and try out different bags. The ThinkTank UrbanDisguise 60 should work as I use that daily for my ThinkPad w510 as I have to lug this POS around for work.
