Tenba Messenger vs. Think Tank Urban Disguise 60 V2 - 09-03-2011, 02:20 PM

I'm taking a unique trip this month, I'm flying to Seattle and driving back to Dallas the very same day and I'm wanting a small carry on that will carry my little d40 2 lenses, Misc photo equip, laptop and a few shirts and t shirts. I'd like to have either of these bags in general, but is there a clear winner?

I have a 17 in laptop right now so I'll need the largest versions. Anyone have any good advice?

Tenba Messenger Large

Think Tank Street Walker Backpack

I have not used the Urban Disguise but I do know Think Tank is a great bag in general. The urban street walker has a review here as well I believe

Abel's fav. I recently won it through a Pixtus.com contest, and absolutely love it. It will not, however, carry a 17" laptop. You would need the Street Walker Pro Hard Drive for that.

I don't think I will buy a bag other than Think Tank for a long time. They make incredible stuff.

It's close, I already have a back pack (with no place for a lap top) but want to try a shoulder bag. I do like the Urban disguise but I'm not sure I do for almost $100 more than the messenger.

I love the messenger, (I have it in the Large version) but adding the padded insert for camera stuff makes it rather bulky. Add the computer and you will have quite the load, before room for clothes. If you pack the D-40, two small lenses (I'm thinking 18-55 and 50-200) they might fit in one compartment of the insert, while a rolled shirt or two would take the last two.

Yea, I was thinking of not even using the insert and just putting the camera w/lens in with the clothes. I'm also rethinking the laptop for this trip. I might try to borrow an ipad or something smaller for the plane. I think I've decided on the tenba, for the price I feel it is much more affordable for me than the thinktank while still getting the same jobs done.

I suggest to you a different bag. I say I also see the bag.
