Sling bags. - 01-30-2012, 02:54 PM

I'm trying to find a good sling bag that will hold my 40d, 24-70L (possibly a Tamron 180mm Macro) and whatever else.

Right now I've been looking at the Kata 3N1-30. I really like the fact that you can change which way it slings and also make it into a backpack. Does anyone else offer something like that?

I'm trying to stay under $120 for this, unless I can sell my Kata bag I have now.

I've got a Lowepro Slingshot 200 that fits (barely) a 7D with a 70-200 f4 L attached
Still room for a couple more lens and flash.
If flying, it fits under the seat, even on regional jets.

i am wondering if something like the Lowepro Slingshot 200 is what i need. i need to go try one out.

i've tried backpacks and shoulder bags, and i have never been really happy with either. backpack is ok, until it is time to changes lenses. then it is a pain.

i'd love to hear suggestions on other sling like bags besides Lowepro (nothing against them, just want alternatives to think about).

when i am out i don't normally keep my camera in a bag. that's on a shoulder strap, and held with one hand anyway. but i do want to be able to reach a lens or three and a filter or two *easily*.

I have the Lowepro and augment that with a Tamrac bag that's a bicycle messenger style (can't remember the model) that works well if you're not packing any giant lenses. It will hold a 70-200 or 70-300L just fine off cam and a 24-105 on camera and still have room for flashes, and other gadgets.

I ended up getting a Velocity 8 or 9 off CL not long ago. Although I'd still like to get one that will allow me to carry my 17" HP laptop. Or I should just get a netbook. Wonder how CS5 will run on those processors.

I have a 3 n 1 33. I love it, it will hold everything you have and a 15" laptop to boot.
