Lowepro Nova 5 AW - 03-02-2007, 01:49 PM

Anyone here use the Loewpro Nova 5 AW camera bag?
http://www.cambags.com/canon/1d/shou...5aw_frames.htm

What are your opinions on it?

I have 2 camera backpacks and a holster, but am looking for a good shoulder bag to buy for those times I want to carry alot, but not with a backpack.

I'm pretty much restricted to buying a bag from Wolf/Ritz (got a $100 giftcard), as I spent all my cash on a lens a few weeks back.

The bag I need has to be able to hold the following:
20D w/ Grip
100-400 L
28-75/2.8
18-55/2.8
1.4TC
Sigma 550 Flash
(if it can also hold a SIgma 70-200/2.8, thats a bonus)

The Nova 5 looks like it'll be able to hold everything (except the additional 70-200).

I love mine - 03-02-2007, 01:57 PM

I have a KM 7D w/grip and 24-105 mounted, 28-75, 17-35, 70-210, 75-300 and 50mm lenses. the narrow pockets next to the camera hold chargers and cords. A couple of the lenses are stacked over filters and my 1.4 and 2x convertors. I have a KM flash and 12 spare batteries in another slot, 6 spare camera batteries, 8 more AA batteries and assorted other stuff in the front pouch, and several CF cards, a remote and another filter inside the top. A couple of manuals live in the exterior lid pocket. It gets heavy, but if you want a versatile shoulder bag, it's the best I have found. I can pull also ge away with a 2nd body by re-arranging slightly.

I also have a Lowepro 3AW and Stealth Reporter 300. The 300 is too sloppy in the compartments and general "feel", and the 3 doesn't have large enough compartments.

Thanks for the input you two.

I looked at the Stealth Reporter 650 also, but Wolf/Ritz doesn't sell that model it seams, only the smaller 300.
I've already called all the Wolfs in the area and no one has either of them in store stock, only the Nova by ordering.

One last try - the big store at Baybrook (hate the drive though).

The 300 is just too losey goosey for me. It also does not hold enough gear.
