Need a camera bag.... - 03-23-2007, 01:47 PM

Been looking at the canon 200dg BB has it for 113, then I checked amazon..... 57!

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/cus...=photo#gallery

so far all I have is a 30d, canon 18-55, sigma 55-200 and a canon 50mm 1.8 A flash will be here soon as well, Will this bag do it for me? Or will I need something bigger.... Would a third party bag be better?

I heard a photographer once comment that the best camera bag he ever had was actually a diaper bag. Very unlikely to be stolen, unlike a camera bag that says, "Nikon" or "Canon" on it.

As for whether or not the bag in question will "work" for you, only you can answer that question. How do you plan on using it? How much gear are you really going to be lugging with you all the time? I have a couple of bags right now that will pretty much stow everything that I have, but I'm getting ready to go out and buy a much smaller and lighter one. If I can be smart about what I really need to take with me I can eliminate a lot of stuff and save my back in the process.

I bought that bag about 2 years ago and it is still going strong. I like it a lot and use it for side trips and as my "go everywhere I go" bag. It is well worth the 52.21 on Amazon. I bought mine at comp USA on sale for 65.00.(as I said that was 2 years ago)

Before you decide check out Domke bags. Very functional and comfortable to sling and the sand ones don't scream 'Camera Bag, Steal Me!'

Amen. Why advertise "STEAL ME!"

Houston Camera Exchange has a HUGE selection of great bags, backpacks, cases, etc. Literally 100s. It would be well worth the trip. Trust me.

I got the Nanue Pro 120, I needed a camera + notebook backback. It will hold all of what you have now and a few more.

Look at the Crumpler 6 million dollar home or 7 million dollar home.

I like it alot more than I thoguht I would.... The images it captures are sharp and colorfull. Its not as fast as a canon, and a tad bit louder.... but, I dont try to sneak up on nature, and as far as speed...it hasnt slowed me down....yet.

for the 150 that I paid for it on B&H...well worth it.

I have similar requirement to yours: 1 camera plus 2-3 lenses plus a flash. I am getting a Lowepro Slingshot 200 as shown here: http://www.lowepro.com/Products/Slin...ot_200_AW.aspx. It has the advantage of both a shoulder bag and a backpack.

Just yesterday I saw some in depth reviews of this bag, and they were all favorable. As mentioned, the name Canon (or Nikon, Minolta, etc.) translates into "steal me, I am valuable" to potential thieves. The price is right, but I think one of the Lowepro would be a better quality bag.

I have a Lowepro Slingshot 200.. works great, very easy access to the camera, comfortably holds flash, accessories, couple of lenses, filters, etc.

I think I paid 60-80 bucks for it..
