Help finding a bag! (houston area) - 05-27-2007, 04:33 PM

Hi all,

I'm leaving on vacation in just a few days, and need a new bag . . I have a couple in mind, but no clue where in the Houston area has the best selection. I really need one that will hold my camera, lenses and 15" laptop.

Can someone tell me where to spend my Memorial Day shopping?

Houston Camera Exchange. They have 100s. Literally. For a notebook + camera, look into Nanue Pro backpack, it is what I have for a 15" notebook, all my gear, and I got it at HCE.....

HCE is always a good place to start.

If you don't see something there try Camera Coop on Shepherd/Durham has a pretty much full line of Tamrac and Lowepro.

Just make sure you take your smaller shoulder bag with you so you can switch over if you need to. Not sure where you are going but some places prohibit backpacks for security reasons.

Have safe fun trip! And of course bring back plenty of photos! Are you flying or taking a cruise ship?

We're flying, and staying in a rental villa. It's my parents, my brother, my husband, our 3 kids, and me! Definitely a full house.

I'm already scouting photo ops via the web, now if only I can convince my family those are places they need to go! LOL

You could also check out Abel's closet. Rumor has it he has almost as many bags as HCE.

Seriously though, I've heard that HCE is THE place for bags in Houston.

Thanks Angel, that's actually one of the ones I was considering. I just need to find someone local, since I've procrastinated and don't have time to wait for someone to ship it to me. Hopefully, HCE will have what I'm looking for.

Or . . hmm . .. anyone have Abel's address? Maybe I could raid his closet . ..

HCE is a sponsor and a good place to start. You might also look at Camera Co-op. A little smaller than HCE, but nice folks. I bought a bag there and have been happy with it.
