Pelican 1510 in and loving it.... - 07-26-2007, 12:53 PM

I just got my Pelican 1510 and am loving it. I can with the dividers get in all my dSLR lenses in it but for the 180L, 70-200/2.8 IS and 400/5.8.

I got it from Pelican Cases 4 Less and their service and shipping were flawless. Ordered it Sunday and got it today, UPS shipping 16.00.

Did you order the "Pelican 1510 Divider Case (Case w/ Divider Set)"?

Thanks!

I'm considering getting it for the carry-on-ability... I have a 1620 with foam... but it's a bit unwieldy sometimes...

I'm about to buy one of these myself. But...foam or dividers? Which offers most protection?

And no bodies. They must be in the other Pelican box.

As for which is better, dividers or foam? I bought a small Pelican case about 2 years ago. My equipment keeps changing. I still haven't figured out how I want to cut the foam. I say dividers are more flexible.

I decided the dividers were more flexible.

Yep, I may get a second one for bodies and Telephotos and other stuff. I would like to get where I have all my gear in two sealed cases on wheels and put it in bags when I'm going to be walking around shooting. and may want to change a lens. But over time I'm finding when I go out on a project to shoot, I've decided ahead of time which lenses, I'll be using rather than taking everything.

Where I need to carry them is like when we do a road trip and I'm shooting everything from landscapes, roadkill, cafes and archtecture that I need a lot of choices.

Dividers are more flexible, and foam deteriorates over time.

Very nice. You might consider mixing bodies and lenses. If (heaven forbid) one case was to be lost, you'd always have a complete system.
