Help with camera bag - 05-06-2008, 02:04 PM

I need shoulder type camera bag (preferably Tamrac) that can fit:
1 camera with lens attached (Sony A-700 with CZ 16-80)
2 other lenses (70-210 F4 and 50 mm F1.7)
1 flash (Sony HVL-F42)
few batteries and charger...

I checked B&H Photo and they have nice selection, however, I can not judge the size and usability of those bags displayed online.
Is there anybody here who can recommend a camera bag? I need it for trip to Europe and this is what I plan to carrry.

Thanks

Tamrac Velocity 8x

If you're interested in a sling-type bag, I just purchased this Tamrac 8x from HCE for $79. I've used it once. I just didn't like the feel, so I jumped to a Kata GT-102 Rucsac. I'll gladly part with the 8x for $50 plus shipping (PayPal) if you interested. PM me if so.

Think Tank makes awsome bags. You may want to look at them.

I assume that when you say shoulder bag you may mean a messenger type bag and not a backpack. I have the Tenba Messenger 2.0 and it holds quite a bit. There is a thread here on TPF about the bag. I am also going to Europe and I want a bag that I can always keep my hand/hands on.

By the way, I looked at your gallery. You have some serious talent.

I've gone through numerous configurations of backpacks and shoulder bags, and for travel I am currently using two different bags. If I'm bringing a laptop I use the Tenba Messenger bag mentioned above. Holds camera gear, a laptop, and all my other daily needs like sunglasses, reading glasses, iPod, etc., and doesn't advertise "camera inside". Now if I'm not taking a laptop, I really like the Tamrac Extreme series shoulder bag that also has a waist belt. You can cart it around like a regular shoulder messenger bag, but if you're shooting with the top unzipped, you can support it with the waist belt around your body. It's hard to describe, but works great. You've got the shoulder strap supporting most of the weight, and then the waist belt stabilizing it and keeping it from swinging around.
