Where to buy Crumpler bags? - 05-07-2008, 02:55 PM

Hey Everyone,

I was wondering if there are any stores around DFW that sell new crumpler bags? I know they have a store in NY.... If I have to end up buying online, I guess thats fine. Just want to check them out before I get one. Looking at maybe a 6 million dollar home bag. If there is a store you know of and it is outside of DFW area let me know and maybe I will see how long of a car trip it will be.

If you have one and located around Garland maybe we can meet just so I can check it out.
Thanks in advance

I don't know of a store in DFW, I bought mine online (complete seed). I liked the 6 mil, but I like the seed with the bucket better. I can just pull the bucket out and use it for my school shet when needed and vice versa.

Thanks Nikolai, I will take a look at that one.

Also, on another note. I am not looking to fit all my gear, just need a smaller bag. I have a bag that fits everything.

Thanks!

I bought my 6M bag online from them - not aware of a distributor in Big D. I like it for those occasions when I'm traveling light. I'm considering a bigger one as well.

You won't get all the gear you list in the 6 million dollar size bag, but when you aren't lugging it all - it's a great size for walking arond a city. I just took mine to SF with my 5D, 17-40, 50 and 580 EX. That was pretty much it for the bag, but I wasn't slinging around a huge backpack either.

I'm in East Dallas, so if we can find a time, you're welcome to check mine out and see if it is the size you want.

You can find some at Crate&Barrel but they aren't the camera bags...but Crumpler bags nonetheless!

That's cool. FWIW, I rarely stuff all my stuff in it, I can, but never do. It feels very comfortable when you pack lightly because it sits at an angle, instead of flat against your hip like most messenger bags.

The UPS guy just dropped off my 7 mil home and its awesome. I went looking at a couple of places in around here (Houston) to see if I could find one and see it in person before purchasing it, but I couldn't find anywhere either. Just order it, I really doubt you'll be disappointed

They sell the normal messenger bags at Whole Earth Provision on Mockingbird Lane. They don't have the camera bags though.

If you like the messenger bags, I have seen some of them on REI Outlet online and have seen some 50% off deals. I have a messenger and the 6mil and love them both.

Yes REI handles Crumpler. What style and I can check and see if Plano or Dallas has it in stock. There are only three stores that have the laptop messenger, and none are in Texas. If you oreder it from reioutlet.com, you can have it delivered to the Plano or dallas store and get free shipping.

I have never even heard of this store until now. Not quite sure on which style im gonna choose. Maybe Ill look online and see where this REI store is located and go check it out.

So after my adventures tomorrow, I will be sure to post my findings, just in case anyone is following along.
