Camera bag recommendation needed - 05-12-2008, 10:25 PM

I am heading to Europe in two weeks and I will be staying in Spain, Italy and Greece. Ive been reading alot about backpack theft and how people tend to slice bags in tight places. I dont know how much this is true, but can anyone give me any advice on a camera bag to take to Europe?

I am taking my canon XTI , 10-22, 85mm and 100-400mm (the beast) to Europe. I dont my stuff to get stolen, so if you have the perfect bag in mind, please share :)

I don't remember if it was in here or Nikoncafe forum but a week or so ago someone posted about a bag with wire imbedded in the straps so it can't be "cut and run". Maybe someone will post it again or you might web search for it. Sounds like a great trip. Have fun.

Not sure, but I think, it was PacSafe brand bags.

Yes, that's the one. I knew someone would know the right ones.

I traveled around Asia earlier in the year and really enjoyed having a Lowepro Slingshot series bag (had the 100 AW with me). The bag is padded and convenient, but most importantly "rotates" around your body to allow easy access to your camera from the "front" (unlike a backpack).

The reason why I point out this feature is tht when I would be in crowded/unsafe feeling places, I would rotate the sling to put my gear in front of me (kangaroo style) and I didn't have any issues. The bag is also pretty cheap ($50-80) depending on where you get it.
