Hi Michael/Loreena,
The Lowepro mini trekker works well for travel...
I use a neoprene pouch for my 13" laptop which then
slides into the large outside zipper compartment...
fits just right and the neoprene protects it...
and the inside of bag will hold lots of camera/lenses and gear.

I have a Computrekker. Works well for a 15" laptop, one body, a couple small lenses, speedlite, cards, batteries, and various other small stuff. I can't say that I would use it for a wilderness outing because there's lots of stuff that's important that won't fit in the bag. Like food, water, and shelter. The bag works good for exploring the urban jungle for a day though. It also works well for air travel which is the main reason I have mine.

Myself and a friend both have the computrekker and like them a lot. Mine is just a tad tight for a big 17" laptop. With the bag completely full it's close to 40 lbs and is tough to carry for long, but that's with a lot of gear. Don't stuff it to the gills and it's nice to carry. You can put a LOT of camera gear in it, but I don't find it very good at carrying anything else like a jacket or change of clothes. Also not much in the way of small exterior pockets, but now I'm getting nit-picky.
