Aquapac SLR Waterproof Camera Bag/Case - 08-06-2008, 01:49 PM

Has anyone here had any experience with either the Aquapac SLR Camera Case or know of another or better brand? And something thats not outrageously priced. The $120 for the Aquapac is about the right price range for me.

GOOGLE inflatable waterproof camera bag

Does the Aquapac allow you to use the camera? Or is it just for protection & transportation?

The SIMA Sport Pouches are economical. Don't know if they will be large enough for you.

For storage/tranportation, these bags are hard to beat:

Not cheap, but neither is your gear. Good insurance when things MUST stay dry.

Yes the Aquapack allows you to use the camera while its in the bag. It will be for protection from a river boat ride & waterfalls. They appear to be pretty air-tight with a clear lens tube for a normal size lens to shoot thru. I just didnt want to drop the $$$ and then it not fit my 40D when it arrived.

I'll look at what you suggested as well regarding the SIMA .. but I think I need something just short of a true underwater housing.

No worries. I didn't look at the Aquapac before posting. I still think that the Dry Bags at the second link above are the best for absolute protection.
