Ive an XTi, body with "Grip" a 100-400L and 18-55IS,
extra "AA" batt pack, some filters, extra card, custom leather strap for the camera, the 100-400 hardly ever leaves this camera, I use it all the time, and leave it on the body, Im looking for a small bag, that would work with this setup, a grap and go bag,
Ive been looking a DOMKE
especialy the F-4AF, I like the canvas look,
but ive heard that the 9X8X11 is missprinted, and is more like 9 deep,
a tight fit for the 100-400
I want to be able to keep my 100-400 on the camera body,,
does anyone know if this bag would work with my 100-400?
or even another small DOMKE-bag??
thanks
johnp

I no longer own my Domke bag (is that correct english?), but believe that your camera lens would be a pretty tight fit, and not much room left over.
I saw an ad for a bag that was made for specifically this type of outfit. I'll look, and update when I find it.

I have two camera bags. One is an over the shoulder and the other is a backpack. Neither one of these actually fit all of my equipment. I was looking at dropping some serious money on a new camera bag until I looked into my closet. There set many unused overnight bags. I chose one, filled it with foam and placed my camera equipment in there all nice and snug. I have left over foam sheets as well. The pieces break out in 1"x1"x1" cubes. If anyone is interested. Bought them for $10/sheet.
This particular bag has roller weals and retractable handle, a grab handle, and backpack straps. One of the most versatile bags I have. I will let you know how it works out long term. I may end up getting a hard case in the end.

Is the 100-400 similar in length to the 70-200? If so the Thinktank Urban disguise bags may do the trick. I have the 50 and it holds my 40D with 70-200 attached, Tamron 28-75 f/2.8, Tamron 17-50 f/2.8, Canon 17-40L f/4, Canon "Nifty Fifty", Canon 430EX, Quick flip Bracket, dedicated Canon TTL cord, and CF memory. Pretty heavy but it sure holds the stuff. And it could hold my 10D body if I wanted it to.
