Are you sure the latches were fully engaged?

uhhhhh yeah. Pretty much if not hammered down they stick out. I have moved on, sold the brand new case they sent me, and am utilizing other methods for protection.

Aside from the Young Guns quote, the only Pelican case I had take on water had a faulty O-Ring seal. I have submersed several smaller units 10 years ago without failure.

That said, they are super heavy, and I've switched to the Storm cases for the latches, size options and slightly lighter weight. However, I think Storm and Hardigg are now Pelican products.

That's totally crazy! I own the 1520 as well and I have seen videos where the Pelican people submerge their own cell phone in a case 20+ feet below water for 20 minutes and then retrieve it to prove their cases are waterproof. This doesn't make any sense... but I'm glad to know that I didn't put a bunch of gear in it and try to dunk it!

They could easily get sued for misleading their customers.

Yep Pelican bought out Storm and Hardigg, and immediately went up on the prices so they all were the same. No monopoly here!
