M-Rock camera bags - 11-19-2008, 08:46 PM

I've been researching for months trying to find the perfect camera bag, something stylish and feminine, but have only found the Jill-e bags, WAY OVERPRICED! So I've given up on the "feminine" look and am going for functionality instead.

I've just discovered the M-Rock bags which come with high reviews and decent prices. I'm thinking of ordering the Everglade 518 one and right now they're having a 20% off sale.

Anyone got an M-Rock? Pros, cons?

With 14 bags in my closet I'd have to say the perfect bag is the one thats being used at the moment. Currently my favorite is a Think Tank Urban Disguise 40 with a Nikon D-700, 24 - 70 f2.8 mounted, 14 - 24 f2.8, lens hood, SB-800 and the usual odds and ends that end up in your bag. The bag you linked to looks similar to a Lowepro Nova 4. That was my most used bag until my D-700; its just a little small now.

I bought the "outdoor" version of M-Rock's larger backpack, the Zion. It had the layout and features I was looking for. My initial impression was that it was pretty nice. Unfortunately the quality of construction leaves much to be desired and after my first trip using the bag it was literally coming apart at the seams in some places. I do sometimes take my backpacks into harsh environments, but I've never had this kind of failure with any of my LowePro backpacks, even though some of them have been used for much longer. The M-Rock pack just wasn't well made.
