You're not crazy. It's been revived and is right around this thread in the lineup.

I think so much of Pelican that I have seven of them.
However I use dividers and not the foam.

(The following is bull theoretical) The larger cases are much harder to seal up because of the large surface area of the lid, which is prone to flex because of it's size. My 1620 flexes a lot (especially when I use it to get a higher perspective) so much that it wheezes in and out from the valve. I know with the right pressure the neoprene seal will fail. It does hold up to getting around in the rain and downpours.

As far as foam and whatnot, the dividers are great. I'm planning on getting the dividers for the 1510 because the puck/pluck falls apart. If you're going to stay configured in one form, you can get solid sheets of foam, custom cut and and layer for your needs. I had the foam in the 1620 for about two weeks and it completely fell apart, I know stick indiv cam bags in it and it holds up great.

Hi Betty, and welcome to the forum.
Try B&H in New York. They will have
a full line of Pelican cases.

pelican is the best alternative out there for water proofing your equipment and protecting it. we check our pelican case full of camera gear and worry more about people stealing what's inside instead of what's inside getting damaged.

why anyone would want to submerge a pelican case full of camera gear is beyond me. if you want to submerge it, you'll need a dry sack or housing. accidents, true. but if the seal is maintained, there should be minimal flexing of the case in the water and it most likely won't be submerged anyways during an accident.

i love our pelican and am looking to get another. we bought ours off of ebay from c2csafety. cheapest price i could find. and remember when you use buy it now to run it through bing to save another 8%.

How big is that camera? If it's small, check the REI online catalog and companies that sell river running (canoe-kayak-raft-etc.) gear. There are a number of small light waterproof cases, hard & soft, for small things like P&S cameras, cell phones, etc. There may even be a shop like that in your neighborhood. Support Mom & Pop!

OK! I looked up your camera. You need a soft plastic waterproof case made for cell phones & 2-way radios. REI has them. Any decent outdoor outfitter store will have them. There should be several such stores in San Diego. Take the camera with you to make sure it fits.
