Good, lightweight and cheap. Autofocus is decent, but not USM. Very usable at 2.8, but incredibly sharp when stopped down. Very good focal length for crop bodies.

XTi, 28mm, f/4.0, 1/125th, ISO200, w/ flash, manual exposure

XTi, 28mm, f/6.3, 1/800th, ISO200, manual exposure

XTi, 28mm, f/3.2, 1/125th, ISO400, manual exposure

I like using this lens when I want to travel light, but want to take quality photography. Attached to a rebel series camera this is an especially light combo and yields much better results than even the higher quality PnS's.

XTi, 28mm, f/2.8, 1/160th, ISO 100

XTi, 28mm, f/2.8, 1/80th, ISO 800

XTi, 28mm, f/4.0, 1/200th, ISO 200

XTi, 28mm, f/2.8, 1/250th, ISO 800
