Any issues with Purple fringing in low light or high contrast situations?
I got this lens today and it is showing lot of PF than I expected.

Is there a way around?
Is there an easy Photoshop fix?

Thanks

JUST bought this lens and got a quick snap of the family pet.

Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM
f4 1/200 ISO 400 85 mm straight out of the camera, resized and cropped.

Great shot, Jere!

I had a long-haired chihuahua with the same look and coloring. He was a "special" dog ... at least to the people he bit.

Chromatic Abberation on shiny objects and bright lights is a problem with this lens, but it's a problem I can live with. It produces amazing portraits. I attach a 1.5x (1.4x in reality) Kenko TC and have a 119mm f/2.5.

I think 85 1.8 is a great portrait lens and is a much cheaper alternative to the renowned 85 1.2L

I mean IQ-wise, you can't really tell the difference.

I really like the lens as well. It is great for portraits but I have also used it for basketball.

Canon 40D : 85mm : f/2.8 : 1/400 : ISO 3200 : AV Mode

A friend brought her new lens over this past weekend and I tested it out for a few shots.

Canon 5D @ f/2.8, 1/60, ISO 320, M mode and some off-camera treats.
