How would this lens do with a group photo where there is not much room to back up to use a 17mm or longer lens?

it distorts (stretches) the edges very noticeably at 10mm.

Agreed, I bought this lens along with my 40D a year ago. Last Christmas, I tried to take a shot of my family in a very tight living room. I could only backup about 5ft. Yes it was a amateur shot...I'm still learning.

Does anyone know how James used this with his Mark III (or is that a mistake in the photo data)? I thought the EF-S lenses only worked with the 1.6x bodies due to the lens construction.
Thanks,

you can modify it by taking off the rubber piece around the rear element. http://www.newschoolofphotography.co...ead.php?t=4646
