Images are always what sells me on buying a lens, talk about specs all day, but if you can't show me what is capable with the lens you'll have a hard time selling it to me. I think this is a great lens for those on a tight budget, it doesn't do so well in low light, but couple it with a nifty fifty and you got a pretty good starter kit (especially if your not much of a fan of the kit lens like me).

I thought I'd try to put as much of a variety of shots as possible, hopefully to show what this lens is capable of.

Canon XTi : @105mm : 1/400th : f/4.5 : 200 ISO : Manual Exposure

Canon XTi : @45mm : 1/1250th : f/11 : 400 ISO : Manual Exposure

Canon XTi : @28mm : 1/400th : f/11 : 400 ISO : Manual Exposure

Canon XTi : @73mm : 1/5th : f/11 : 800 ISO : Manual w/flash (I'm not sure how 1/5th is possible, but that's what the settings were)

Canon XTi : @88mm : 1/125th : f/8 : 400 ISO : Manual Exposure

Does no one else like this lens? For the price I think it's great walk around zoom and have taken many pictures with it since my original post. I prefer primes most of the time, but for casual shooting (or traveling)this lens is great. Small, light, and quick accurate focus.

XTi, ISO 400, f/8.0, 1/200th @ 28mm, aperture priority

XTi, ISO 400, f/9.0, 1/400th @ 28mm, manual exposure

XTi, ISO 400, f/9.0 1/500th @ 105mm, aperture priority

5D, ISO 1250, f/5.6, 1/640th @ 92mm, aperture priority
