This is my favorite lens I own so far. It has a nice long focal length without being ridiculously heavy (that's big reason I chose this over the popular 70-200 f/4L) and also has IS which I think is really helpful for a longer focal length lens. Also, if you couple this with a 500D close-up lens/filter you've got a macro lens as well!
