Unhappy Playing with Minolta in Marshall - 06-07-2009, 08:23 PM

Princess and I went to Marshall last weekend and gave the minolta x700 a workout. Was disappointed to find it has a light leak. Something else around here to fix. Here are four from our treck.

I have yet to figure out how ya'll put the info on each pic so here is a list

#1 Old Harrison County Courthouse Gemini 28mm f/11 S-500

#2 Different angle same settings

#3 Confederate Soldier Topman 80-200 f/11 S-500

#4 Another vew of the courthoue from East Houston Gemini 28mm f/8 S-500

ISO =400

Working on the light leak. The next roll will tell me if I fixed it or have to find a repair shop.

C&C welcom and needed. TNX for looking.

Um...Other than fixing the light leak, what do I need to do to improve?

I'd fix the horizon on the first three to start.

Then I'd go over and shoot the old T&P Depot! And try and catch Amtrak passing through.
But that's just me!

Thanks Paul, I thought they looked a bit off kilter.

We went by the depot but they looked closed. Many years ago thet tunnel extended further. you popped up on the platform between the tracks. It was an awsome experience for a 3-4-5 year old lad when we would catch the train for Kentucky to see Grandmother.

Next time we go I'm going to try to get a shot looking down from the N. Boliver bridge that goes over and just to the east of the depot. I'll have to check schedules to catch a train coming through.

The Depot has a museum, in it addition to the Amtrak station. So it may have not been closed.
When I was by there last October, it was nearly noon, and the West Bound Amtrak came in and stopped. I got some nice shots from the bridge. The only thing wrong with the sinerio is, the Amtrak was supposed to be there about 7 am!!! So...Don't depend on the schedules!

I'd take the camera to Bob at The Camera Shop and let him take a look at it. Very nice and very knowledgeable. Bet he can fix that light leak for you.
