Nice shot of a cool building. You used the only lens that could get the entire building in the frame as I know you've got a building to your back and couldn't back up any farther. I think you did well.

As far as suggestions... I may have tried to shoot a 5 shot, 1 stop bracket of the building and then build an HDR out of it. That would have given you more definition in the sky as well as bring out the shadows deep in the building.

I also may have tried to see what it looked like cropped to just below the bottom of the light poles. Not sure if it would work but I would have tried (you probably already did).

Nice.

Joe

Talk about great symmetry! From the light poles to the tops of the buildings about a block away on both sides. That one pesky car on the right! Lol. Looks great. I would agree with Joe on the HDR though. I bet it would look really cool that way. Just not over-contrasty. I don't like those HDR images.

Hey Joe and Shawn, thanks for your input. To tell you the truth Joe, I did not think about the cropping and now that you mention it I will try it out. Agree with both of you that it should look better.

As far as the HDR, good advice and my next try at this picture. I'll also try and choose a better time when the sun may be a little behind, or it is cloudy and more evenly illuminating. I shot this at 4 PM yesterday when the sun was to camera left causing the blown out sky.

So some coming weekend when you find me in the middle of Southlake Town Square with my tripod, you know what I am up to :-)
