UT Tower from above - 04-05-2010, 01:23 PM


Shot the UT Tower last Tuesday from atop Dobie Center. Here is the first photograph. This was comprised of shooting in manual mode at different exposure lenghts. Then digitally blending the exposures. in all it was 7 exposures.

Mike the longest was 30 seconds the shortest was 2 seconds I adjusted the shutter speed until I gained a quarter stop on the incamera meter and took another photo.

Other than the subject matter (), a nice image. Does the tower look more orange to the naked eye? The longer exposures, or maybe my uncalibrated monitor, make the lights look red. Combined with the green, it could make for a nice Christmas card.

Interesting - Looks pretty close to the Orange that I saw in person on my monitor. Long exposure may have had something to do with it but for the tower piece I used one of the shorter end exposures as to not blow out the windows and clock. The lights below actually are that green.

The tower was lit to signify the national championship the mens swimming and diving team won. They do this for any nat champ.
