while i agree with that statement, the lawbooks don't see it that way and i don't want Criminal Trespassing on my record.

however, what stops someone from walking into an unlocked and occupied house and snooping around just to take pictures?

I'm sorry, but I really have a problem with this smug comment.

If the OP just wants to post pics and keep the rest to himself, fine, then we can keep it about the pics, but this is an unacceptable crossing of the line IMHO.

how is that crossing a line? are you a cop or some other form of "authoritative" figure?

for being "artists" some of the members on this board are pretty uptight. not trying to start sh!t or anything, but for real.. some of you guys could stand to take things a little less serious. it's not like the guy is breaking into buildings shooting up smack, stealing anything or spray painting the places up.

What happens when he breaks his leg falling through an old floor and sues the owner? Not being uptight just bringing up the main reason I see it as a problem...

true "art" has always come from breaking a few rules... whether that be in the literal sense or some textbook sense about composition/color/etc.

my $.02

lets ask him.

hey dude... if you fell in one of these buildings, would you sue the owner?

I'm guessing not because you knew the risk before you went in there. and if you did try to sue, you wouldn't win because you were trespassing.

suing the owner for a broken leg holds no water imo.

I will say this... most seasoned explorers tend to perform with a bit more discretion.

i understand the risks involved....i also am respectful of the property. I have never taken anything or vandalized a building. yes, its against the law. yes, i risk that to get the shots i want. and yes, i do what i need to do to get into buildings...climb, crawl, jump fences....whatever. i dont mind everyone judging me. it could be worse...i could be taking photos of babies dressed as adults, or broken down "local hotties" that wanna be models. i understand my style is not like yours, and thats the way i like it.
