Church Perspective Corrected HDR - 03-02-2011, 08:49 PM

I would really like some CC on this shot. I am being drawn down a architecture photography road for some reason, this shot begins my journey.

Thanks in advance...

I think its well processed, not horribly overdone. I would shift your perspective though.

it seems a bit boxy, did you crop in PS or straight out of the camera?
Or maybe it might be the perspective angel? I still like it.....

It was much wider to begin with, when I corrected for the converging lines I had to crop it for the areas lost due to tilting it. I would say I lost 10% of the width doing it.

Here is the same HDR file uncorrected...

Without a TS lens one would need to be at about 18mm or so to get the 24 after correction. Thats of course depends on the amount of correction needed...

I like this, but the only thing that you could have done on the converging lines, was to scoot back about 10 to 20 feet, maybe!
But I do like this one better, just me.....

Oh, I totally agree. I like the uncorrected version better myself. I am trying to convience myself I dont need to spend 2k on a TS lens when I can correct it in PS.

You not helping.. LOL...

I would have played around with moving up or down, maybe side to side. I probably would have shot up at it from the ground slightly to the right to really emphasize the size of the church. I generally try to avoid eye level since that's what everyone sees from, I like to capture angles that the average person usually isn't looking from (but that's just me )

Got cha, thanks for the feed back guys. I need to go back to that church before they demolish it. Maybe the street wont be lined with cars and I will be able to try some different angles...

shot is fine, maybe some additional foreground to balance things. and i actually like the angle from the uncorrected shot. dont worry about some distortion. it doesnt necessarily take away anything from the photo. I would recommend that if you are going to pursue a path of architectural photography to invest in a wider angle lens like a 12 or 11mm. tokina makes a great 11-16 that is a bit expensive but produces excellent quality.

Tick the "Perspective" in Photoshop if you use it to crop. It'll give a more natural view to your shot.
