I love ghost towns! Do you remember what this was called/where it is?
I like to put cool textures on mine to give them that "old painting" look.

Thanks everyone for replies! I wasn't driving (cuz i can't really drive yet... leagally) so I don't know exactly where it is but it was on the left side going to Austin on 290. If you're coming back, it's obviously on the right... sorry, wish I had more info... :/

Nice shots. I've driven past this place a hundred times when my in-laws lived out that way. It is almost exactly half-way between Brenham and Chapel Hill (just east of Brenham at Jozwiak Rd and 290). I don't think it is truly a ghost town but rather some abandoned or neglected buildings as part of a historic replica type shopping area or attraction -- memory isn't clear on that part.

I always thought it would be cool to shoot there but never had the time when we were passing by.

Yup. One of those kitschy "country"-themed, roadside shopping centers, doomed to fail before construction. But where I see an eyesore, others found a way to make it useful.

Thanks for the info Brett! Yeah I kinda figured it wasn't a real 'ghost town'... you have just confirmed my suspicions unfortunately :( I hope to visit a "real" ghost town someday to shoot, but I have to wait till I have a licence and stuff for that... my mom doesn't like road trips :/

Do a google search for "Winkelmann, TX" and you will find out more information about it...

I remember several years ago when it was actually operating! It looked a bit ghostly even when it was open.
