Very nice shots, Pat. I might've straightened the second shot a hair, but that's a nitpick, both are very nicely exposed.

If I may ask, where were you when you shot these and is it hard to find a place to park down there at nite? My son lives in Austin and I've been thinking about making a nite trip to shoot the capitol, among other things. I normally shoot macro and closeup and the season is mostly over for me.

Not to hijack the thread or anything but...hey, Jennifer, since your bio shows you're from Austin, I'm assuming you're familiar with downtown and how to find some good spots from which to shoot the capitol and stuff. I'm game if you are. How about some time after the holidays?

Actually, that's the Iowa Capitol, in Des Moines. And no, there's plenty of parking. You can even walk in and peruse books in the Library at night, when there's someone at the desk.

The parking at the Capitol in Austin is a lot less open, but if you don't mind a bit of a walk up the hill, it's quite easy to approach. On a weekday, parking shouldn't be a problem, though.
