Critique: NC:

As I'm going to put more than 3 images in the thread, I have to put NC which I take to be no critique rather than no comment.

I'm happy for constructive critique on any of my images - if you don't like it tell me why and if possible, how to fix the problem.

This is one of my favourite images. Taken in Helsinki.

Claire,

Love your images. I went to your Flickr account and viewed your abstract set. Very nice set to start my day. Have you ever done any lessons on what you do and how you do it?

Thank you, Michael. Which version of images were you interested in? There is rather a mixed bag in my abstract set.

OK, the first one...

Abstract magnolia. by BambersImages, on Flickr

Is created in camera. You use a smaller aperture and a slower speed and move the camera as you take the picture.
These do take some practice and many of the images created won't work initially.

The next one is a hdr image of the atrium staircase on the Seabourn Sojourn cruise ship.
I used a wide angle lens, on a tripod, remote release and took three images +/-2 and blended them in Photomatix.

Atrium staircase. by BambersImages, on Flickr

The next one started off as a firework. I used polar coordinates in PS to create the image.

The next one is of a musical sculpture which has been created in the UK.
I shot it down one of the metal tubes of a man taking a picture inside the arch.

Can he see me? by BambersImages, on Flickr

This is the sculpture...

Aeolus - Acoustic Wind Pavilion by BambersImages, on Flickr

The next one started off as a picture of French marigolds that I also used polar coordinates on.
It is a bit of trial and error to start with to work out which images work with it as not all do.
