This is a discussion on Fire Action within the City Life forums, part of the Showcase category; These are in Clear Lake. 2-11 apt. fire and 4 cars on fire at Baybrook Mall this weekend. No injuries....

#2 is very good. I was curious - do you encounter any problems being so close to the action? I myself have noticed photographers being ushered to an area farther away from the action and not optimal for photography.

I am a firefighter so most know me. The best thing to do is send the fire/police some pictures or drop them off at their station. If you do that a few times they will recognize you and be more easy on you at a scene. There are still lome fires I can not get close because of the threat of collapse or something.

I thought you might be. I am a police officer but work graveyards and really drag ass when it comes to getting up to take photos during the daylight. I've been thinking about asking our fire chief for permission to hang out on my weekends and hopefully catch some action shots...

# 2 is my fav!! But - both are excellent!! A photog friend of mine (out of state) is a firefighter also...and has some awesome shots of the intimite action!!
