Estes Park, Colorado

Our favorite spot of the whole Colorado trip was staying the the town of Estes Park which we spent 3 days at. Estes Park is situated right near the east side entrance of the Rocky Mountain National Park. Lisa and I had a great cabin right about 25ft from the flowing creek/river which made for nice soothing sound.

Canon 20D :: Canon EF 17-40mm f4L :: 1/640 s :: F 6.3 :: 17mm :: ISO 200 :: No Flash Fired

The photo above is of Park Theatre in Estes Park which sits at around elevation 7,500' above sea level. The most I have found out about this structure is that it dates back to the early 1900s and you can book to have a wedding held there. I know that's cheesy background info but I don't have any real historic facts about the structure just yet. It seems to be of no importance since I can't seem to find anything about it online.

I completely forgot I was shooting in ISO 200 and could have used ISO 100 instead in order to get a cleaner photo. Oh well, It was cloudy earlier that day and I was shooting in ISO 200 and then Lisa and I camped out at this spot for about 30-45 minutes or so in order to wait for a break in the cloud cover. I guess I need to be more aware of my settings out in the field. Hehee. I was using my B+W Circular Polarizer which did a very nice job.

It is kind of a neat shot, with that angle, but it look over saturated and has a little to much contrast for me.

Cool shot! My friends and I saw "The Manchurian Candidate" there when we were visiting Rocky Mountain National Park last July/August... We sat on that bench next to the door while we waited! :)

very cool...

yeah i wanted to try something a little different so i did bump up the contrast and saturation in order to get a deep punchy look. ive seen the technique done by others and thought id give it a try as well and learn something in the process.

thanks
