Seattle's Pike Place Market

I was in Seattle in June for business, and shot this at the famous Pike Place Market.

What is the light area in the upper left?

The light area is a wall...you can't really tell, but there's a musician standing in front of it (you can see some reflection on his leather shoes).

The only suggestion I could possibly make to improve the image is to either darken that area (as it distracts from the open guitar case) or crop it tighter.
